Building Chicken Coop Out Of Scrap Wood

Building a chicken coop does not need to be an expensive process. you can build a chicken coop that is predator proof from scrap material found around most homesteads and a couple small rolls of fencing – or less than $100 worth of wood. upcycling an old rabbit hutch into a chicken coop is an even cheaper way to secure your meat and egg birds.. Let me show you how to build a chicken coop from pallet wood! of course, this is not the only way, just my way but i had so much fun with it and i wanted to share it with you. my chickens needed a new coop and i had very little money to spend and so, i decided to build their chicken coop from pallet wood that i collected for free.. Even making a new modest sized coop isn’t difficult and can be mostly built with free scrap wood. it’s possible to buy almost everything a well-equipped coop needs. feeders, waterers, nests, and even gourmet specialty food are stocked in stores that sell chicks each spring. but, shopping for chicken needs can get expensive..

Step 3 – build foundation framing. this chicken coop that i’ve built was made from mostly scrap wood that was going to be thrown away. my parents replaced a decaying patio cover in their backyard and gave me the old lumber to use it on my diy projects. i cut out the old rotten sections of the wood and used what was still good.. How to build a chicken coop for free? sure, that you could buy a pre-built coop for your chickens. you don’t have to be a professional crafter to build a house for your chicken. ready to check out the coops? (900-1200mm) by 6″ (150mm), 2 scrap wood pieces 3-4 feet (900-1200mm) long and plenty of 6″ (150mm) 1 x 4 (25x90mm) or 2 x 4. Outdoor chicken run: this is slightly more difficult to build than the simple coop, but it will allow your chickens more space, as well as the option of being outside. allow 2 to 3 square feet per chicken for the coop, and at least 4 square feet per chicken for the outside run..
